Match Report - Yale vs Boston College
29 Oct 2006
This game is an exciting match up. Both teams are aggressive at the break down and have players that can pilfer for the ball effectively. Both teams have good inside backs that can penetrate through the opposition’s defense.
Boston has a big physical pack and is well drilled under the guidance of Boston Irish Wolfhound Willy Tonery. They are very strong at set piece and have a strong drive that creates go forward. They have an experienced flyhalf who will look to play the game in the oppositions half.
It was Boston College’s physicality that got the better of Dartmouth last week and it’s this aspect of the game that they will use to there advantage this weekend.
Boston let Dartmouth in with some easy tries late in the game, so their fitness t will be of concern for Head Coach John Dalton.
Yale has a promising inside centre, Thomas Kidd. He created mayhem for the Harvard defense last Saturday. He is very quick and has a great eye for a gap.
Yale’s loose forwards are very quick to the break down and technically are very astute at turning over the opposition’s procession.
This game will be won at the break down. Who ever can win the contest at the break down will be the winners.
This game is to close to call, but one thing is for sure, it will be an aggressive and physical forward battle.
